Wyld Roots –
Weekly Community Breathwork Sessions

Community Breathwork Sessions

At Wyldroots, we believe that breath is a tool for everyone. Our community breathwork sessions are designed to help people of all backgrounds manage stress, reconnect with their body, and bring more calm, clarity, and energy into daily life.

Where & When

  • Locations: Our sessions take place across Wiltshire in a variety of inspiring community spaces — from community centres and cosy yurts, to peaceful spots in the countryside, or even outside with headphones for a fully immersive experience.

  • Frequency: Sessions are held at least once a month in different locations. See our booking page for current dates and locations.

  • Capacity: Sessions are intentionally small, with no more than 15 participants, to ensure a safe, supportive, and personalised experience.

We are happy to accommodate requests for sessions in other counties across England and Wales.

Accessible & Inclusive

We understand that financial barriers can prevent some people from attending. That’s why we offer at least one free or concessionary space per session for those with community interest or financial difficulties.

What to Expect

Each 90-minute session is carefully structured to balance movement, sound, learning, and deep breathwork:

  1. Stress-Relieving Exercises & Chest Openers (10–15 minutes): Gentle movements to release tension and prepare the body for breathwork.

  2. AUM Chanting (5 minutes): A calming practice to centre the mind and connect with the group.

  3. Breathwork Techniques (5–10 minutes): Learn new tools and practices you can take away to use anytime.

  4. Guided Breathwork Session (40+ minutes): An immersive experience designed to release stress, restore energy, and cultivate emotional balance.

Why Join a Community Session?

  • Reduce stress and anxiety in a supportive environment

  • Learn practical breathwork techniques for everyday life

  • Experience a deeper sense of connection — with yourself and others

  • Enjoy the restorative effects of nature or shared communal spaces

Whether you are new to breathwork or have some experience, these sessions provide a safe and nurturing space to explore, recharge, and feel more present.

What to Wear & Bring

We provide mats, bolsters, eye masks, and blankets — you just need to bring yourself in loose, layered clothing that allows you to move and breathe comfortably.

  • Shoes: You’ll be asked to remove your shoes during the session.

  • Socks: Optional, bring them if you feel more comfortable.

  • Extras: Nothing else is required — just your presence and willingness to relax and explore.

Spaces are limited, so check our booking page to reserve your spot in your local community session.

Wyld Roots – Evidence-Based Breathwork

The Science Behind Breathwork

Breath is one of the few body functions we can control consciously — and that makes it a powerful tool for regulating our nervous system, emotions, and energy.

How Breathwork Affects the Body

  1. Regulates the Nervous System

    • The autonomic nervous system controls how our body responds to stress. Breathwork helps shift from the “fight or flight” mode (sympathetic nervous system) into “rest and digest” mode (parasympathetic nervous system).

    • This results in slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, and reduced stress hormone levels, helping you feel calmer and more focused.

  2. Increases Oxygen and Energy

    • Deep, rhythmic breathing delivers more oxygen to the blood and brain.

    • More oxygen means more energy, better concentration, and clearer thinking.

  3. Supports Emotional Regulation

    • Breathwork encourages awareness of your body and emotions.

    • By noticing tension, stress, or emotional patterns while breathing, you can interrupt automatic stress reactions and respond more calmly.

  4. Boosts Brain Function & Mental Clarity

    • Research, including recent studies on SOMA Breath from Cambridge University, shows breathwork can increase neural complexity — meaning your brain is more flexible, creative, and capable of insight.

    • Participants often report feeling clearer, lighter, and more positive after sessions.

  5. Reduces Anxiety and Stress

    • Studies show that structured breathwork can reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, and depression, sometimes after just a few sessions.

    • It also improves resilience, helping you handle everyday pressures without feeling overwhelmed.

  6. Supports Physical Health

    • Regular breathwork may help improve sleep, digestion, and immune function.

    • It also encourages gentle movement and chest opening, which can relieve tension and improve posture.

Why Breathwork Works

  • You control your breath → you influence your body and mind

  • Breathing patterns affect stress hormones, heart rate, and brain function

  • Consistent practice trains your nervous system to stay calmer and more resilient

In short: breathwork gives you a tool you can use anytime, anywhere, to manage stress, boost energy, and feel more in control of your emotions and wellbeing.
